Blueberryflowers asked:

I heard the dosage may be the problem or allergy to the vaccine but i don’t know which one. My son has mild end autism spectrum disorder. If he is sensitive to vaccines can he get a flu shot?

I have heard the flu shot can cause this. MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) shots can also cause this.

My little sister is Autistic, and she was fine as a small child until she got her last set of booster shots, then she became a different person overnight. She began not to talk, or eat. She now does not speak, and will only drink milk. It costs my parents over $15.00 for a gallon of milk after they put all necessary vitamins in the drink to keep her alive.

She got her shots, went in to the hospital with a fever of 104, and never was the same. Also they are beginning to look at families who have power lines next to their homes as a possible cause. We all believe the “mercury” theory about the vaccines: too much mercury that was not meant to be in the vacciene triggered the autism.

I researched it and discovered that it is the MMR which stands for measles, mumps, rubella.

My son is developmentally delayed, and suffers from CAPD, Aphasia, and a few other things. All this falls into the ‘autism spectrum’.

All I know is when he was around 6 months old he got the ‘DPT’ shot, ran a fever of 103-104 for 4 days. Cried non-stop. The doctor said it was from the ‘P’ in the DPT. The ‘P’ is the pertussis vaccine.

However, nothing can be done about since Bush took office. Remember the Patriot Act Bush and his cronies put together? That lovely pice of legislation states that pharmaceutical companies are EXEMPT from law suits, and owe parents nothing if the mercury in the vaccines harmed their child. Why, you may ask? Because there are soooo many autism cases in the U.S. that if the parents formed a class action lawsuit the pharmaceutical companies would go out of business. Hmmmm, what does this mean? That the politicians are so invested in pharmaceutical companies that they actually support our blasted econmony. Hmmm, now what does this have to do with terrorism? The thinking in the Patriot Act, was such that is the pharm co’s were all sued out of business, then the U.S. would no longer be able to protect itself against terrorism. Doesn’t figure for me but there it is.

Good luck with your son, and if he isn’t in school already, be prepared for the fight of your life!

EDIT: As far as the flu shot, I’d be a bit wary. I, personally had a few. The 1st one went off without a hitch. The 2nd made me sooooo sick, had the flu for a week!

Vaccines containing the preservative thiomerosol was investigated for links to autism. However, after much research and statisitcal analysis there is not even a remotely possible link.

I am not sure what you mean when you say “your son is sensitive to vaccines” If by that you say he has an allergic or hypersensitivity reaction then I would use caution and inform the MD.

None is suspected to cause autism. All that hooha about the mmr was a bucket of lies by someone who hasn’t even got the right qualifications to suggest the link.
Yep your child would be absolutely fine to have the flu vaccine… appart from his reaction to the needle and all that… which is natural for autistics (like me).
