Young kids that age do flap hands. This is normal.

Most of the parents diagnos autism after 12 months of age.

Here is the poll that I encourage parents to participate in to share their thoughts on when they first observed autism

it is a baby thing, not an autism thing. baby's flap their hands and arms. Normal babies sometimes even bang their heads against walls. yeesh.

And autism can't be prevented, and it isn't diagnosed until around age 3. So you are worry for nothing. Does your daughter make eye contact sometimes? Does she smile? Is she happy?

I know it is on the rise, but seriously, people need to stop reading things into every little behavior and just start enjoying their kids!

Your baby sounds completely normal!! don't worry yourself sick!my son is 2 and still flings his arms and kicks his feat! just a normal baby thing. If your baby doesn't want anything to do with you, doesn't want to be held, then you should talk to your pediatritian.

I'm sure that it is nothing to worry about. WIthin the first year your baby is starting to discover their hands and feet, etc. and how they relate to the world around them. The best thing to do if you have any concers is to just talk to your pediatrician about it. Trust me, they will be more than willing to answer your questions, and it will help relieve your worry.

Flapping hands when frustrated can be completely normal. This alone would not signify autism. The main things to look for are anything that has to do with social interaction/ communication. Does your baby babble, make eye contact, smile back at you, try to get your attention? If so, you probably have nothing to worry about. You could always talk to your pediatrician too just to ease your fears. Try not to spend all your time worrying so you can enjoy your baby. That's what I tell myself when I start to get freaked out about all the studies and scary information out there. Good luck!!

It could merely be a little bit of temper. She could be trying hard to voice her frustration. It's hard to tell at that age because they are still developing their communication skills. If I were you I would keep an eye on certain things and just ask your doctor.

dont worry shes only 7 months. my son is 13 months and still throws his arms around when hes mad. well actually its kind of part of the whole tantrum thing and i think he did start about 7 months old. dont worry so much on this subject just enjoy your baby and if you are still concerned when shes gets older say about 2-3 then ask questions with your doc.

Nope it sounds like a normal baby thing. Babies are just discovering their bodies and various parts and they like to experiment. I wouldn't worry about it.
